AP2 Issues

Beautiful Black 2008 just acquired something of a death rattle down below.

Put up on rack at muffler shop because it sounds similar to exhaust leak at 4,000 rpm
NO leaks. Cat is solid.
Noise seems to be tranny. (Recently (April) filled at Honda of Lompoc)

Took to my regular mechanic - heís stumped (no charge for that) - suggests taking it to Honda...
...but my faith in two local shops is pretty low.

Patiently awaiting links to similar issues like mine, or suggestions on GREAT shops in or near Santa Maria CA that understand our cars.

Iíll l be searching the forum on my own, but will greatly appreciate any shortcuts yíall provide.

Thanks 🙏🏽

Some details? Miles? Does it rev to redline? Front or rear of car? Audio file might help, also try posting on s2ki.com

More info would definitely help

Can you supply more info? The only think you've posted is that it makes noise. What kind of noise, where does it appear to originate? Does this happen in all gears? When you first start the car, after it's warm, on your return from the local liquor store? Does is happen all the time or is it intermittent? I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

Thanks for responding.
As noted, noise seems to be transmission, but also seems to effect power, especially around 4,000 rpm.

I went though over 20 pages of ĎEngine/Tech - Driveline Ď threads and clicked, read until they became dissimilar.

Through search here I found several Southern California shops highly rated for S2000ís, but have an appointment with a local independent today. The shop has about 80% 5***** feedback & although some of those were sports cars, no S2k owners...

Unlike me to have such an emotional attachment to a vehicle with more than 2 wheels - but here we are!

Thank you both for attempting to help me out.

Tony

Does it make the noise with the clutch engaged or doesn't matter?
