Dead silent in the S2000 world...

Dear S2000 Forum,

I have something to tell you. You better have a seat for this. I think we have grown apart. What happened to us? We use to be good, vibrant, loud. Now we are just dead. I have been the only one really posting on this forum, and I have to reply to my own posts? What have we become? Currently, there are four (thats right, four) people logged on. And no body is posting. What has become of this forum. What happened to our fast and the furious star (you man)? he got replaced by a freaking dodge charger??? Or has the Scion FRS really taken over, and we have become the old, senile, bitchy, out of date s2000 drivers? What is the next step? Shut it down? U already know... U already know....

I must agree, there isn't too much activity on the forum.
Maybe i should be posting a bit more about the stuff i do to the car and just random hupla.
I know everyone loves pics. we're more likely to check stuff out if there are pics involved.
I feel its twitter and facebook and pintrest and all those sites' fault. They make it so easy for me to post pics on their sites and comment and all that jazz.
To post a pic here i have to upload it to host it somehwere, then copy a link, paste, submit it. Its pretty slow by todays standards.

LOL! Dude. You do realize that adulthobbyist is just Yashooa using an alias, right? He's Mr. Rapidfire Ruby on Rails an' all. When they invented amphetamines, they were aiming to match Yash's normal state of being.

This is him in slow motion...

^^Ryan new forum rules (this is per JJ), you have to pay a fee to post, fee is waived if you own a S. You will be billed soon or you can set up auto payment from your checking acct.

I heard that this site used to be really good back in the day. Hell, in the short time I've been here I've seen it go down hill. But I think it's starting to come uphill again. As for the members we used to see here, well, they are always welcome. People do get tired of things and the downhill ride this site took might have scared them off. All we can do is hope they show up again......

Things are always at their best when we first find them and say, "oh cool!" whether they really are or not. That is simply our perception. Don't believe me? How about when you first met your spouse? Bought your first car? First moved into your current home? Those things were sooooo cool then. But over time we get accustomed to things and our interest wanes. With spouses, hopefully you don't opt to trade them in, but it's not like that is all that uncommon either.

And with regard to this forum, it doesn't help matters much that it's hard to find new enthusiasts for a car that is no longer being sold new. How do you get new blood? The car will only become less common (and it's not like you see them on every street corner like Miatas or Minis) and the owners fewer. And the constituency of forums like this will become smaller. Simple as that.

Has the site really gone downhill or is it just our perception of it that has changed? Maybe it's a little of both? "Gone downhill" is hard to define. I doubt it has changed that much other than decrease in membership seeing as, like I previously mentioned, there are no new S2000s being made and it's hard to drum up a bunch of excitement over a car that is, for all intents and purposes, *dead.*

Want excitement and exhuberence? Well, yeah, try the FR-S forums or any forum where the car is currently in production or is brand new. And if you really want exhuberence, go where the "young" folks are. You know, the ones who drive those Scions and stuff that us old, steadfast Toyota driving types wouldn't be seen dead in cuz they are too young for our tastes.

Good Lord, do I have to explain everything to you? Ken said Bravo I hit the nail on the head... or something akin to that. And I said thanks and commented using my favorite expression that, loosely translated, means even a complete idiot can get one right every once in awhile (that would be me, java).

As it turns out, squirrels will eat just about any kind of nut, but they particularly like oak tree nuts (acorns).

Me, I prefer tasty nuts. Lightly salted. Candied nuts are yummy too.

For those complaining about the lack of content on this site, remember there are at least three other sites competing for the same small number of s2000 owners out there. My experience is that each site has ups and downs in a cyclical pattern depending on various factors.

I would agree JJ, with the exception of a few "characters" which crop up, this site is close-knit and offers a nice change from the other sites.

How long does this take? Married in 52, moved in in 71, Only had the
S about 4 years.
Sure would hate to lose the S2000!
