And neither can you now.
While no one seems to know how,
What has changed is not the rest.
What was then was not always the best.

And if my back would stop hurting, I might get back to sleep. Not counting on it. Back in the day, back issues were few and far between.

How long does this take? Married in 52, moved in in 71, Only had the
S about 4 years. Sure would hate to lose the S2000!
I've had one wife(nearly 12 years now), two houses and two real jobs in my life. I keep those parts of my life VERY stable. But I've had well over 30 cars now. I'm a major car ****. The S2000 was the latest victim. But you never know, I might get another one. It's one of the few cars that I would own twice.

We should get another thread started about how many cars each one of us have owned. Over 30, huh? Yeah, that's major....I thought I was up there with 22 different.

Well I'll admit that many of them were junkers when I was younger. With old cars sometimes it was cheaper just to replace over repairing. Four Spitfires, two GT6's, and two TR6's. That was just the Triumphs. There was one MGB, one Datsun 260Z, and two Jeep CJ5's in there as well. They were all driven hard and put away wet. Well, all but the MGB. I actually bought and restored that one but the MG thing never took so I sold it and went back to Triumphs. I slowed down a little once I started getting nicer more reliable transportation....but slow for me is still pretty hardcore for most people.

About once a quarter we have a thread that morphs into a discussion of all the cars folks have owned over the years. It usually starts as "what was your first car" or "what car do you wish you still had" or something like that.

I don't like having to go through the list of all the cars I've owned. None were particularly spectacular, but the depressing part is trying to remember what years the cars were. At the time, I never figured I would forget (although some I wish I could... like that Comet I had for awhile), but time has a way of taking its soft eraser head to one's memory and then...
.
.
.

*snort*

Hmm? What was I saying? Dang.

Let's not and say we did, it would be depressing to list the cars one's owned over this many years!

Definitely depressing for me. When I saw a Mercedes 300s coupe, similar to
one I owned, go for $750.000 at auction I cried a little. The others worth
mentioning, MGTD, bought new for $2200, Porsche Speedster, Porsche Convertible D, Alfa Spyder, BMW 2002 and a host of Ford V8 flatheads among others. Ah, 20-20 hindsight!

First car, a 35 Ford coupe with no 2nd gear. Paid $150.

Seems to a back thing going around. A daughter in TX has been in bed with hers. The wife's has been bothering her and I had trouble getting out of bed today.

I recall fondly the '85 Corolla GTS (bought new in '85). Who knew that car would become the poster child for the drifting crowd. The '87 MR2 (first gen) with a true rear mid engine.

Not so fondly the '79 Dodge Aspen (it was the family car). Pieces kept falling off that Dodge. I do recall with a certain fondness the '80 Dodge Challenger (built by Mitsubishi for Dodge). That car stayed in the family for over 20 years before being donated to the Salvation Army. Ah, a walk down memory lane......

Memory Lane is a treacherous road with way too many potholes. I go down it and I end up needing an alignment.
