S2000 seats

Hello,

Old guy, new on this forum, looking for info on a set of S2000 seats. Hoping to find red with black edges, with hardware, decent condition. Photos also would be great.

Assuming need to go off site to discuss costs etc.

Thanks,

..Bob

And if and when you do find some, make sure they're not stolen which is not unusual.

S2000 seats are popular, hard to come by and expensive. i don't think they came red and black (may be wrong here) but came blue, red, or black. we do have guys on here that part out and drop in from time to time.

perhaps this should have made it to the alien twilihgt tread?

i always liked the way those early Insights looked--raked windshield, fastback, fender skirts, curves... how do you like driving it? is it still a viable vehicle? is it hard to get parts? are you a member on an Insight site?

sorry i can't help with the seats but welcome.

My DD is a 2002 Insight. I have 182000 miles on it and it is still going great. Not really peppy with its 3 cylinder, but the mileage is great. Average 60 mpg over its lifetime, including winter driving. I put snow tires on for winter and it goes right through the snow.

Haven't had a problem with parts yet. But havent needed anything major.

bbcricketta: I found a couple sets of red with black edges, but in bad shape. You're right on the price, ones in good shape are going for a pretty penny. Yes the 1st generation of Insight (G1) is still awesome. I own 2 of 'em, a cvt and an mt, killer mpg. Parts are still available, also from Majestic Honda. Yes, I'm a member on InsightCentral.net (mountain driver).

adagio: My pair have 181k and 186k miles. Just getting broke in. (I bought my mt from a guy in Green Bay) Some of the G1 owners have over 300k and 400k. One owner reports over 700k. I got my 1st one to save fuel, I was driving a pick-up 100 miles r/t for work, chewed holes in my wallet for gas. 60 lmpg in WI is really good, you guys get some ugly winters over there.

A G1 owner in CA put a set of S2K seats in his Insight, looks great. I'm exploring doing the same but finding the cost may outweigh the cosmetic benefit. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

S2000 seats are good ones and good looking. you can always get them reupholstered and they could be done just as you want them--leather, Alcantara, plaid cloth.

We don't see many Insights at work, but when you do come in it's a real event. Pretty cool vehicle and Honda beat Toyota to market with it.

Most of the folk where I work drive pick ups to work like I used to. I take a lot of ribbing for the Insight.

Hahahaha! Honda Civic is the number one selling car in Canada for 17 years but the Ford F-150 is the best selling vehicle in Canada for 47 YEARS!
