Convertibles need a four-point roll bar.

We allow the S2000 because of the factory rollover protection. Any further questions please e-mail [email protected]. We currently have a couple of S2000s that run with us without a four point roll bar.

Then you need to correct your website information. It specifically says that a convertible must have a four point roll bar.

I'll send an email for confirmation.

We are in the process of updating the convertible rule to list cars that don't require a four point roll bar. For now however we review each car on a case by case basis. Because we have had S2000s run with us in the past with just the factory roll over protection they are exempt from the four point rule. Thank you for reading the rules, most people don't.

I see that there are 4 run groups based on information from the schedule from the Gingerman event (There is no "run group" schedule on the Road America schedule.)

However, there is no description of what experience level (novice, intemediate, advanced, etc.) is in each class. Moreover, for other than the novice, there is no indication of what measure is used to determine the level of experience.

Are you able to elaborate on that for me?

The Road America run group schedule is listed on the Road America event page, see attached below. Click on the "Run Group Schedule" link.

When you register for an event there are questions regarding your HPDE or racing experience. Based on those answers you are placed in beginner, novice, intermediate, or advanced. Grouping is based on your experience level and the speed of the car.

If I've got more than 100 track days under my belt, may I still opt to run in the intermediate group or is that decision out of my hands?

You can chose your run group. Group 1 is our fastest run group. I would suggest group 2.
