Santa Barbara is burning...again...again

Third time in 9 months we got a big fire. It's not great for top down motoring, but I can't help myself. Definitely have to put the top up when parked or else the ash is everywhere when you hit vtec. I tried to get some good pix but every time we had a flare up, I wasn't in a good spot or I didn't have a camera. Hit up some foothill twisties to get some pix, but it was pretty mellow, mostly smoke. Had some big flare ups and runs last night, but only could see a little from the roof of my house. Let's see if my pictures will post (they're not very exciting)

If that doesn't work, I'll try it again.

Looks like top up weather just started. The wind kicked up real bad and it looks like it's snowing.

I used them up in s'mores on my last camping trip.

They said 75 houses as of last night before it really took off again. Most of these are really nice houses along the "Riviera" part of Santa Barbara, overlooking the city and ocean. I'd say over 100 were gone by this morning.

Our news said 30,000 evacuated! It's probably too late, but if anyone needs a road trip to Vegas, rooms are really cheap right now, and if that's not an option we've still got two rooms available here now that the kids are off to college...

Hey Jimbo I didn't think that it was at your doorstep, I heard that it was in a remote area there and the temp drops were helping alot. Stay safe Dude and if you want to drive around down here let me know, clear skies!

Me? No.

The fires got down near populated areas. I guess about 77 houses burned (Which is amazing considering how bad it was the other night). That # will probably adjust over the next few days. Fire's about 75% contained and I don't see any flames in the hills. We're in then clear for now.
