Hi Everybody

It's been a long while. Just checking in to see who's still around from the OG crew. I've been doing well, successfully finished med school and just living life as good as I can.

If you were wondering, yes, I still have my S!.....308K miles and still going strong!

#neverselling!

Hope everybody is well!

What's up Switch & Glenn! Glad to see y'all are still around!

Actually no Glenn. Still the same original engine and same rear diff. Just started having torque sensor issues (vibrating steering wheel) about a few months ago (still trying to figure that one out) and replaced the typical wear and tear stuff - engine mounts, alternator, radiator, clutch and shocks right around 160k-220k miles. Aside from needing a paint job on the front hood, bumper and fenders.....all is good!....still purs like the day I bought her with 36k miles in 06'. No oil leaks, no rear knocking (except me knocking on wood that nobody hits me) and no drivetrain issues to date. All I have been doing is giving her full synthetic oil changes around every 6k miles, change fluids, filters, belts and hoses, condition the vinyl seats/dash, and a good wax twice annually...and I don't over do it with the high revs/spirited driving.......and she is good.

After I hit 300k I promised her that I would slowly retire her and buy another car that I wouldnt mind driving daily. Just bought a 370z in January; which is fast and fun, but there will never be another S2K.

I get serious offers to buy her dang near every weekend......it's crazy.

What's new? Still have your S2K's or am I the last man standing?

I'm equally impressed/stunned with the 308....may we all have the same luck!
So how'd you & the S escape the floods? It'd be a damn shame to care for a car that long, only to lose her to a freak storm. Good to hear.

This place certainly isn't what it used to be (like any old forum), but it's still a valuable place for info. I check almost daily.

Jim!!! What's up my man!!???

I've had tussles with Hurricanes Gilbert, Allison, Rita, and Ike....so when when I saw Harvey coming, I already knew the city wasn't going to be able to handle it. So...the Wednesday before the storm hit, I drove the S and my wife's car to the hospital and parked on the top floor then we Ubered home. My neighborhood flooded pretty bad, but thankfully I had enough sense to put her on high ground, otherwise I definitely would have lost it.

Harvey was really something else......

Nice to hear from you!
As far as the torque sensor issues, I have heard a number of stories that disassembled and /or cleaning followed by a re-greasing pretty much solves the problems.

Glad to hear you're ok after Harvey. Still have my 2000 S2K. It's got 114,6xx on it now. Bought it in 08 with 81,xxx.
