07 2000 w/ damage rear end question

http://www.canadianblackbook.com/use...9051/contact/0

I plan to purchase the car. I am kinda curious guys on how much it would cost to get that rear end to be fixed and what other kind of questions should i ask the dealer about this car. I plan to offer 16k all in for the car also is that a reasonable offer? Thx for the help guys

Get it checked by a frame shop before you do anything.

I would GUESS about $4,000. On the bright side, it looks as though the car hasn't received any structural damage. Like Phil said, have it looked at by a professional body shop. Ask people that you know for recommendations. IMHO, word of mouth is the best way to pick a body shop.

Good luck, it looks like a nice car.

Hard to tell by the pictures provided and with the bumper on. From what I see you'll need to replace the LR tail lamp and rear bumper, repair/replacement of the LR tail lamp pocket, maybe some LR 1/4 panel repair. Might need to replace the rear bumper (foam) absorber and maybe the rear reinforcement bar as well. I woud say $3-5K for new OEM parts.

Agree with Switch, hard to tell from the pics...but does not look too bad. I would also have a frame guy look at it... but I bet it is still straight.

Bumper, taillight and some work to the quarter panel, not too bad for a car in that shape. You could always only look at it from the front...

doesn't look like you'll need much. A taillight for $200, bumper cover and paint for 450-, and quarter panel work if you even need it, it's really hard to tell from that pic. Everything looks fixable for under 1500- and that would be my high end guess. I wouldn't worry about looking at the frame, that very minor damage and too high to affect the frame anyways, just looks like the car was backed up into something. I've fixed a few of these cars. in pic 4 it looks like it has a patch on the soft top, if that's the case just figure another 1000 for a replacement top. If the top needs replacement and it was me, i'd just save the work and buy one that doesn't need any work, they don't cost a whole lot more then this car anyways

I see you're buying it out of Quebec, where are you located? I'm sure I could help you out with some OEM parts.

Have you had a chance to drive it? It really doesn't look all that bad and you could probably get some idea as to the extent by driving it. Good luck.
