For those affected, qualifies as a free brake health check by your dealer.

AP2 ftw!

Mine also came up clean. When I contacted my dealer about an unrelated question I asked them to check and was told that when they ran my VIN on their system it was included in the recall.

Just to update, I contacted Honda of America with my VIN and was told that my car is included in the recall. I was also informed that I should contact my dealership after receiving notice in the mail which should be sometime next month. Honda estimates that only about 4% of the cars receiving notice would actually need to have repairs done.

Blast it! Well, what about the recall for the missing 1000rpm? Did ya hear about that one? I am offering a full 500 dollars (shipped of course) for anyone's S2000 only revs to 8000rpm.

There's also a recall for the missing displacement S2000's. Some got shipped with smaller engines. Honda will fix that for free.

Funny how the selling dealer that is constantly spamming me with "service reminders" and "specials" acted like they were doing me a special favor when I called to schedule the recall service.

Tell me again why I should do business with you?

I received my recall notice a couple of days ago and I took my car to the dealership today. I picked a good day to schedule the appointment because they were able to work on my car immediately. It took all of about an hour and apparently my brake booster system did not need replacing, so I was good to go. Not a big deal, but I'm sure glad to have my S back!

Wife got an e-mail from American Honda because they said they had sent me one about the recall and I never responded. By the ID numbers mine came up clean but they want to see it anyway so it goes in at 3:30 Friday afternoon. Hmmmm bad time really, everyone will want to haul *** and start their weekends.

Well, actually that was my preferred time. My last class is out the door at 3pm on Friday and the dealership is 15 minutes away. When we first started talking about this my VIN was not in the affected zone either and I mentioned it to the service advisor when I showed up. He ran my VIN thru his computer and it showed my car was in the range. The service tech, a young German guy who took the car told me he has 5 Stewie's, 3 AP1s and 2 AP2s. Everything came back clear though when he got it checked out so all's well that ends well. Took about 45 minutes from pulling up to driving away.
