400 Whp s2000 project

Post 400 Whp s2000 project

Hey guys, I've just joined this website and since you all are much more knowledgeable on this than I am, I am thinking about picking up a s2000, but I want to to get it around 400 whp. Is that too far out of reach with a moderate budget? And if so can you guys suggest some stuff? Thanks.

I will defer to those who have done that kind of thing. I kinda like the car just the way it is; prefer stock but I am also a fly fisherman too.

Buy a American muscle car. Don't ruin a perfectly good, well-designed car. If you must ruin a S2000, try to find a rebuilt or salvage title car. First it will be cheaper than a clean, unmodified car, and two, when you get tired of it, you can probably sell it for what you paid for it.

400hp and moderate budget don't really go together. If this is really what you want, I would suggest looking for one that someone has already poured their money into it then pick up from where they left off. Personally I prefer my stock. I always get a smile on my face when I make it go and it still can scare me sometimes.

This! I'm thinking you will be in the $8-10K range to do it. You will be able to do it cheaper if you find a used supercharger or turbocharger setup. On S2KI they have some for sale. Good luck and keep us posted!
