S2000 engine head rebuild

Hi fellow Honda enthusiasts,

I have recently bought a US S2000 (AP1) and not stopped smiling since.

My top previous Honda cars owned include a UK Integra Type R (2000) Civic Type R (2005 special addiction & 2009 in Championship White)

Currently I have a 2011 CRV EX and now an S2000. My wife drives a 2011 stock Jazz.

Back to the S2000: The first thing I needed to do was fix the common ticking noise coming from the TCT. I followed a basic reconditioning step by step guide in how to roughing up the worm screw and touch wood, all is quite from the head.

One thing I have noticed though is there are two air pipes that are not connected to anything !!!! (The head was rebuilt not long before I bought it)

The first pipe comes from a component behind the head and has been crimped in half with a plastic tie.

The second is from the right side of the air filter housing and goes straight down to nothing and again sealed at the end with a plug.

"Short Video of pipes and there exact locations":

The car is running perfect and seems to have been well looked after however I don’t know what to make of this.

Any help or advice would we really helpful.

Many thanks,

Pete

Looks like someone deleted the air pump...you can check easy enough it is behind the front bumper on the drivers side. Are you getting any CEL's? There is a guy on s2ki.com who sells a delete kit that allows the removal and no CEL's will be thrown.

Hay Switchblade. After 10min of searching I gave in a searched it on YouTube. 100% I would never of found it, cheers for the heads up.

Starrman; Many thanks for the info on the air pump. Is that reference to the inside heating or something related under the hood? When you say CEL's, please ignore my lack of knowledge but what are CEL's?

Cheers Switchblade.

Yes I do have that light on and can get it turned off but should I be concerned about them not being connected or worse still actually missing the air pump. What was it pumping air into/out off.

I would check that CEL. Let us know what it is. Probably is related to the air pump but better to make sure nothing else is stored. The air pump I think has something to do with emissons.
