Finally got my own S2000

Everyday is like Christmas now that I'm a very proud owner of an S2000. I get giddie like school child every time I climb in, I find myself going outside just to stare at it for a while. What kinda............ Anyway her name is Kinky Kylie. Shes an 01 all stock except a recently installed K&N filter. I like this car so much out of the box there's not a lot I want to do to it. I want to put a full brembo brake set up. Some coil overs that increase the cornering performance but I can adjust to only lower the ride height .5". If anyone can suggest a coil over like this I would appreciate it. I want the Ap2 V1 wheels, stage 2 clutch to eliminate any chance of clutch buzz, paint factory white and have the interior reupholstered in tan, going to try to get my hands on BMW brown Novillo leather. And that's it. I want my S to be as close to original as possible. Next Year I'm going to add an Ap2 to the fleet.

If you learn how to drive it well while it's stock you 'll know how well the mods work when they're done

Chris (i69) is just a bit enthusiastic. New S fever, I think. He came out to the drive on Sunday.

Chris, what they are saying is true. Give yourself time to get comfortable with it in stock configuration before you make lots of changes.

Just for the record, since I pointed out the list of modifications, as a orthodox libertarian I think Chris should go ahead and do whatever he'd like to his car. Even 24" wheels and a Hello Kitty vinyl wrap. Whatever.

I was just amused by the gung-ho list along with the "close to original as possible" statement, which implied that simply leaving it as-is was actually not possible. :-)

I agree that anyone can do whatever they want with their own car. My point was that Chris is a particularly enthusiastic new owner and perhaps merits a bit of latitude about his list of dream mods. He's just generally a very enthusiastic guy. He brought extra batteries and walkie-talkies to share on the drive on Sunday, and I think he even bought the walkie-talkies new specifically for the drive. His offer to share was very nice. Just a gung-ho kind of guy.

I think that suggesting he get used to the car in stock form first and then mod away with wild abandon later if so desired is good advice. But it's his car and he can do whatever he wants.

And yeah, I also found it kind of amusing that there was a pretty extensive list of wish mods followed immediately by the comment of keeping as close to original as possible.
