I can confirm this 1st hand. I went to San Diego last week and 1st Thing i saw stepping out of the airport..... Suzuka blue s drove by, working at the convention center for a week I spotted 3 s2k's, back at the airport to go home and spotted 2 more. That's 6 in 1 week, aside from a recent meet I haven't seen that many in a couple months combined down here in Florida.

We do have a lot of s2000s in CA, but San Diego seems to have the most. I definitely see more of them when I visit down there than I see in the LA area.

That does not mean I'm encouraging anyone to move here.

Dude. You are not listening. We have enough people here already. If you keep extolling the virtues of living in SoCal, it's definitely not going to help.

EVERYONE: It's a great place to visit, but you don't want to live here. Come visit, bring money, buy stuff, then please go home.

Dubai definitely has some interesting (and expensive) cars. I saw a GT-R there two days after Nissan announced that the car was going on sale. There are more Bentley coupes and convertibles there than anywhere else in the world.

I guess it depends on your taste in cars. You're usually more on the look out for things you like. I see r35s Bentley, lambos, Ferrari, porshe literally everyday, but to be honest I'd rather see a clean Honda any day of the week.

So i read that AP1s can burn thru tires fairly quickly due to not having traction control? No AP1s come with traction control?

Any rear wheel drive vehicle driven in a particular fashion can run through rear tires faster than fronts. My Miatas were like that (I was running aftermarket wheels in a staggered configuration much like the S).

The traction control in the AP1 is of the manual variety: your right foot.

AP2s wear out rears faster than fronts also. I can't compare to AP1 since I've only had an AP2, but I can tell you AP2 rears definitely wear out faster than fronts if you have your alignment set pretty neutral/to moderately aggressive configuration.

You could get more or you could get less depending on how you drive and what tires you get. That stated, 10-15k is a good number to figure on and if you get more than that you can be happy about it. I changed out my OEM Bridgestones at 19k. My driving style has adjusted some as I've had the car longer and I know I'm not getting that same amount of mileage out of my Dunlop Star Specs. But there are moderately priced tires that still perform well which you can get. That discussion has been had at length (and ad nauseum) on this board already and you can search the threads for all of that info.

Thanks for the info., on another note I was watching this vid and I couldn't make out what the high pitch noise was...can that be the intake? Never heard it at such a high pitch....does the mugen one sound like that?

You mean the digital "blip" noises? That's aftermarket RPM indicator for shifting.

No, I could tell the noises of the digital rpm indicator lol there's a really high pitch noise coming from the engine, can't make it out. I'm guessing it's the intake.

I spose there could be an argument that traction control could save tires a little since it will help prevent you from spinning tires, but main reason the tires burn out quickly is that:
1. Performance tires use a softer rubber compound that wears down faster.
2. Harder turning wears down tires quickly...and this is a car that wants to be turned hard.

The holes in the seat headrests disappears in model years 06 and higher. There were a number of changes to the AP2 (04-09) in 06: Drive by Wire, Traction Control, Seats, subtle wheel redesign, center console metal finish coloration (black vs silver).

Good luck with your search...I think the best advice is to take your time to find the right car. These are not common but it is well worth the wait to find a nice unmolested example. I'm an AP2 fan (mostly for cosmetic reasons) but as others have stated all model years are good bets.

Yeah I've been waiting for one with lowish miles and white/red combination. I've never had a white car before, but I'm guessing they get dirty really fast. Going to see what I can do, thanks all.

Nah, its the opposite of that. They're the cleanest cars around, other than silver perhaps.

That looks good. I'm in Tennessee and paid $21k for a 2007 with 40k but it was in Nov. when all convertible prices go down in Tennessee. Be sure and get it checked out by a garage you trust.
