New owner 2000 S2K

Hey everyone. I finally picked up a grey with red/black interior 2000 S2000 with 22,000 miles on it. I will try and post some pictures later this week. Anyway I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. The reason I bought the car was to have a fun roadster to drive around during the summer, and to also get into racing (autocross and track day events). I plan on leaving the car relatively stock until my driving skill gets to the level where the car is holding back the faster lap times and not me. I've only had the car for about a week now, but it is such a blast to drive, very different experience than my 2011 WRX.

I'm excited to be an S2000 owner and look forward to joining the community.

-Josh

Welcome Shuan!

Smart man/woman- This is a fresh twist on most new users posts which usually start with asking how they can make 350+ HP...

I have '00 in the same color combination- wish mine had 22k on it, what a score- Congrats!!

Welcome and congrats on the new toy! I have a similar car myself, grey '01 with black interior and currently 31.5k on the clock.

Just be cautious of the oversteer until you get the hang of it. '00-01 cars have a massive rear sway bar to keep things exciting. And make sure not to lift the throttle mid corner. Remember the saying "in like a lamb, out like a lion". Have fun!

Haha thank you. I've already had cars that are fast in a straight line, now I'm ready to step up and become a fast driver, not just have a fast car. I did a lot of research before I came to my decision on the S2000 and so far I agree with most of what I've read; that it is one of the best driver's cars for the money.

Switchblade: What secret compartment?

Silverstone_Ryan: Thanks for the words of wisdom.

It should be nice out this weekend and I'm planning on taking a trip up to the white mountains, so hopefully I can put plenty of miles on it this weekend.

Thanks for the kind regards everyone,

Josh

That vertical glove box thing? That isn't all that secret. Or do you mean the sneaky little shelf behind the seats under the rear window?
