Buy a Mustang!

If you're concerned about getting X amount of horsepower from a car you've never driven, you don't want an S2000. That is NOT what an S2000 is about.

p.s. Thank you for your service

You have to put a turbo or supercharger on to make that power if you want, various vendors have these available. Probably check on the engine forum.

Blah, Your best bet is to find a used comptech or vortech supercharger, Get aem ems, and up your boost a little from stock. Stock boost you will probably be putting down 300whp roughly. If you up it you can probably max out around 400whp. Going turbo will net you higher power but more headaches for the most part.

Why would you like to be around that HP level?

What is it that you expect the car to be able to do at those HP levels, that it doesn't do stock?

If your answer is be able to win a drag or street race, again the S2000 is NOT for you.

If you want car that will win at Autocross or at the track on a road course, you don't need more HP than stock to do that.

As meantioned buying a supercharger is the most reliable way to make additional HP on an S2000.

You really should think about what you want the car to do before deciding on an S2000.

This is NOT what an S2000 is about!

The srt4 and s2k have same reported quarter mile times, they should feel about similar w pull...srt4 makes more torque so it might feel faster...

martin idk why u keep shutting down the idea of an s2000 to me like i dont know anything about cars and what i want. I know exactly what i want and exactly what i want to use it for im not some kid trying to go out drag racing because i have a super charger in a s2000. I just wanted to hear the idea on turbo's and superchargers because i see that people are using these vortech superchargers which seems intresting so yeah....

I asked what it is you want to use it for, which should be easy to answer based on the statement above.

^this. you know what you want the car for, and its straight line performance. you wont see hardly any gains with anything except FI and the rear ends on these cars are weaker than GM 10bolts; there are much better bases for a drag car.

however, you can get power out of anything with the right amount of $$...if youre going to go this route, be prepared to pay for it.

The best and cheapest way to make your car faster is to reduce the over all weight. Here's some ideas on weight reduction for increasing speed!
