Newbie from Iowa

Fiancee' and I just picked up our 2003 S2K about a month ago, finally signed up for the forum today! I've owned a few Mustang GT's, driven Camaros, 350 Z's, etc., and never had as much raw fun driving a car as I have the S (and wife-to-be feels the same, thank goodness! ).

Just put new tires on it (had some Cooper all seasons on it... They still probably had 30% good tread left on rears, but wow, seriously? ) So, car's happy with the new Star Spec 'shoes'.

Looking forward to the car and the forum (great info on here, gave us things to look for/at when we bought the car)!

MLRZ

PS... pic is from last night, finishing up waxing her! And no, Switchblade, we haven't found the secret compartment yet, but I'll look tonight.

$15 worth of ice cream and smoothies at the local Sweet Treats... we'll ship them to you for a week! Please?!?

And y, really love the yellow! Where I work, I can see the big parking lot where I park. The other day, of the roughly 600 cars in the lot, I only spotted 4 yellow vehicles (none of them S's...)

Thanks!

Thanks everyone! Lovin the site so far, amazing how many times I've read of someone elses' experience w/ the S and thought "wow, yep, just had that happen to me yesterday too" (having it get squirrely on me going around a corner unexpectedly, having its solidness lull you into maybe doing something someplace you shouldn't and potentially getting into trouble, etc. etc.)

Found the secret compartment last night, was so excited! Going backwards a bit, my (future) sister/father in law have an S2000, drove it for first time roughly, um, 2 weeks before we bought ours. Yeah, seriously bitten by the bug... went from thinking "oh, y, cute convertible" to "holy schnikes but this is a REAL serious fricking car, just happens to look good too!". Anyhoo, am guessing they haven't found the secret compartment yet, we can't wait to tell/show them.

BTW, Phin, will be having ISU vanity plates on it soon, so hopefully Kathy (fiancee', ISU grad) takes 'Hawkeye' liberally...

After one month and close to a thousand miles, we couldn't be happier w/ it! We've been talking about talking an 'S' vaca w/ parents in their S over to Galena (quaint little historic sorta town a bit over 3 hours away) or something some weekend, looking forward to that.

MLRZ

Sounds like fun...and yeah, that first turn you THOUGHT you had is priceless! (as long as you recovered).... I think you should tell your future in-laws that there is a secret compartment and them find it themselves! hehe

The two older crew members appear to be thinking about being in the drivers seat.

Not only a great car for Dad but a great carrot.
