4 Day Valentine's Day Marin Drive

Stayed at the Coast Guard Station outside Petaluma and drove over to Point Reyes. Saw the last operating HF station in North America. Started by Marconi and then RCA, MCI, and now the Maritime Radio Historical Society runs it. Ship to shore as well as aircraft. Step back in time.
Headed south along the Panoramic Highway. Great top down weather. Noticed the east coast was having a real cold snap. Bummer.

Don't understand why link is not working; I posted the same on another site and it is fine. The route I traveled was along North Beach on Point Reyes, Muir Beach, Panoramic Highway, Ridgecrest Highway, Bolinas, and Bodega.

I only put it on when I am in need of the extra space for something. I actually came pretty close to putting it on as I was going to haul a "pop-up" beach shelter and larger, comfortable beach chairs for the day at Point Reyes. I went with the small REI camp chairs instead; they worked out just fine plus the sun was so nice to bask in.

AZDancer got one of these racks, a Surco DR. I made the oak slats for him and in return he got me a snazzy CR radio door that was to be signed by Shigeru Uehara (but he was a no show at the S2000 get together last year in LA.)

BTW, these chairs are the best, very small and light. Comfortable. I use them backpacking all the time. Other places have something similar but they don't work like the REI ones. I pack with a group of guys and the consensus is the same. These work.

I had a back deck rack on my 68 Corvette years ago, always liked the look of it. I remember these pics from when you firs set it up, looks nice, adds a bit of sparkle to the car. The S looks nice in yellow.
