Theres nothing wrong with RX8, if you're looking for a 2+2 rear suicide doors high revving sports car.

There's plenty of d!ckheads that say the same thing about the S.

power will come from either a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder or a 3.5-liter V-6,

Think that says it all. Honda may make the eqivalent of a V6 Mustang. WTF!!!

Yeah I have always kinda liked the RX8. The interior is nice and the handling is amazing.

Just to cut our buddy the slightest bit of slack, one of the cool things about the S2000 is that it is a sports car that you don't have to know everything about the workings of it's engine if you don't want to. It's entirely possible to just add gas, get the oil changed every so often, and just enjoy driving snot out of the car. I'll bet there are S2K owners that love their cars and have never even seen the engine.

Or maybe the difference between being married and being a gynecologist.

Let's see..... vasectomies, vaccinations..... the NSX!

I predict the V6 displacing between 3.4 and 4 liters putting out around 400 hp. The Accord floor pan sounds sad but I suppose it could work out. Seems like a long way down from a purpose designed and build aluminum monocoque.

The two big temptations for Honda, being a Japanese company and prone to gimmick worship, are AWD and/or a gratuitous hybrid system. If Honda would leverage that 400 bhp into 800 through a Volt style drive I'd applaud them. But I bet they won't. They'll probably have a cheesy little hybrid kicker of between 25 and 50 hp. Just enough to slap a "hybrid" label on the car.

Honda isn't clear in their thinking like they were in the late '90s. Their styling is muddled and awkward, and they can't decide if they want to build performance cars or 'green' cars. Even their F1 car was an "Earth Car" for a while. They were surprised when everyone hated the hypocrisy of that move. Sometimes you have to make a decision and choose a direction. Right now Honda doesn't seem able to.

I don't like the direction their design's are heading. But their engines and suspension tuning are top notch.

Never say never. But I think the product cycle we're heading into is even more of a V6 time than when the original NSX came out with a V6.

Like backusstudio said I love the V10 but its not going to happen. If we even see this car (and I doubt it but you never know) it probably will have some sill v6 hybird engine. I wouldnt mind seeing a V8. Perhaps a 4.0 to put the one in the M3 to shame. That wouldnt be an easy task though.

What do a bunch of 2L I4 (or v4 as the case may be) know about V10s. Sheesh. You want a V10 go buy a Viper. You want a honda, buy what they do best. 4 bangers and the occasional V6.

Honda is good with the 4 they need to keep the 4. Once they get brave enough to maximize the performance of the 6 you will have pros and cons once again. Thats why they have put so little production in a 6 just as "Limited Edition's" from what ive seen.

I'm as sick of this thread as anyone else, but I'll add my $0.02.

Sure, the V10 is nice. But why would any of us want to see it? It's not like Honda's going to drop it in some $35-40,000 dollar sports car. This is a 6-digit purchase, no doubt.

There's already enough cool cars out there that I can't afford. I'd rather see Honda build something within reach, like a competitor to the 370Z & next RX-7, with 6 or less pistons. That said, it's very unlikely. No problem though, I'll be keeping the S for a long, long time

Jim, whats your secret? How do you make good points without sounding like a jerk?

I read "ISU's guide to posting" but I must be doing something wrong...

the 2011 accord coupe has a v6 and in the EX-L version comes in a manual. v6 is supposed to be indy inspired, 270hp, tight suspension, and short throw gearbox. though none of these will compare to the s2k, that's still something i would consider for a dd (much more than the pilot i drive now). that's the good news.

the bad news? none available in the state of california, there are supposed to be 2, count them . . . 1, 2 that are being built on dec. 1 (which coincidentally is my b-day) for the whole month. and who knows where they will end up. that and the sticker price of $35k. that's 3-series territory (new) or used m3 maybe m5 territory.

Thats what I said. I would much rather have a 30-40K sports car available. I dont really car what they do to the NSX or if it even comes back because I wont be able to buy it lol.
