Getting ready to sell, door lock issue

Strange door lock issue that has recently popped up. I haven't been driving the car at all lately, so it has been sitting, so I guess I don't know when, why, or how this happened.
When I go to unlock the door, either with the remote or manually with the key, it unlocks, but I have to open it IMMEDIATELY or it is locked again. You don't hear it lock, it just is. Once you get in the car and shut the door, ot's locked again. Can't use the unlock button on the door to open it, so have to press the button on the key fob, and again, open it IMMEDIATELY.
The trunk pops just fine with the remote or the key.
Any thoughts? I'd like to try and fix this before I try and sell it.
It's a 2007.

Thanks!

Might be the door lock actuator.

Both doors doing it or just the drivers side? If both are doing it is probably in the system but if just the drivers side is doing it I would suspect the actuator.

Never have used my door locks cause I never drive it top up but I know my wife's Camry if you unlock the car you have like 30 seconds to open a door before it auto locks the doors.

i have a 2007. if the door / doors are unlocked with the remote you have about 30 seconds before they relock if the key is not inserted in the ignition. this will happen if a door is open as well. the doors (i know this for a fact) will not unlock with the remote if the key is in the ignition. neither will the trunk.

you will hear the car lock; it's not silent.

you cannot use the manual lock in the interior door handle? can you unlock the car with the key; or lock it with the key?

you could always reboot by disconnecting the positive on the batter for about a minute.

Only to add to the sage wisdom of Mr BB, make that minute stretch for at least 7-8 minutes. There still can be a charge in some capacitors. Give it time to discharge.

Why 8 minutes? That happens to be the time from battery disconnect to working on airbag modules to keep the thing from blowing up in your face if there is some stray current.

Perhaps Mr BB can find some more pictures of deployed air bags.
