Radio dead, no prompt for code

My 2001 radio worked fine, parked in garage for a few days and next time out radio, cd, will not work. Symptoms:
1. No prompt to enter code (which I have and have entered before)
2. Anti-theft red light blinks on/off
3. Fuses for Aux and radio checked and OK.
4. Battery was fine although about a year later was replaced.

What do I check next?

Did you try turning the radio power button on to bring up the prompt for the radio code? Blinking anti-theft light means power button is off.

Yes I turned it on, I also tried a second radio. The blinking anti-theft light indicates there is power, and I believe the second radio I tried is a good radio. Is there anything else that would prevent the radio from turning on? I tried typing the code in w/ blank screen... no luck.

Could there be a short or problem with the dash audio controls preventing the radio from working?

Yes, blinking anti theft light means there is power going to radio, but usually means radio is turned off. What happens when you turn the power on? Do you still get a blank radio screen? I assuming you do have a stock radio, right?

Both radios are stock radios. The display is blank key on / key off, motor running or off. Anti-theft light blinks regardless of key position.

I picked up awiring diagram for the Honda harness and the wiring schmatic for the Radio/Aux circuits. I will scan and upload those for future reference if that is possible.

Two fuses control the radio. There is a constant power line (supplies the blinking anti-theft) and there is an Aux. Both have separate fuses under the dash. I previously checked the radio but not the aux. Aux also supplies cigarette lighter and I plan to check it and the fuse for power. I have the underhood fuse numbers to check for both circuits.

If it is not one of the four fuses there must be a short somewhere. If that is the case it could be a real mess.

I'll update you with my findings.

Leave it to me to make something simple into something complicated. I got an audio Circuit diagram from the dealer and it showed 6 fuses in the circuit diagram. Three under dash (#'s 9 - 10A (Aux), 22 - 15 A (Radio) and 23 - 10A and three under the hood -#'s 41, 42, 54. It turned out to be a 10 amp under the dash, I think it was the Aux because it also controlled the 12 Volt (cigarette) plug in. The fuse location diagram on my foot panel did match where the fuse was, and I did not see numbers to match the numbers from the circuit diagram. I found the missing fuse by checking each 10A and 15A fuse. I guess previously I trusted the diagram, or made an error in ID'ing the Aux fuse location.

Lessons learned on audio problems:
1. Check all 10A and 15A fuses BEFORE you pull the radio and buy a replacement on ebay.
2. Pulling the radio is pretty simple and only requires TLC to pull the cover and a phillips screwdriver to take the radio out. There is a video on youtube to show you how.

I just had this same issue, so I'm thinking & hoping it's the #9, 10-amp fuse.

And so, it was a quite ride home from DC last night! Got to see the Discovery Orbiter though, on display at the National Air & Space Museum near Dulles.
If you're ever nearby, I highly recommend a visit.
