Need some help. Anybody have this problem?

Hi everyone,

I bought my 2004 S2000 a few weeks ago and I didn't notice this problem until a few days ago. The floor carpeting has a tear in it on the driver side about 5 inches long (now that my foot got caught in it). It is located just in front of the seat and on the back side of that hump in the floor (hump looks like it's a crossmember in the frame).

I was wondering if anybody else has had/has this problem and possible solutions. Is there any type of adhesive that would hold this? I was thinking about having someone try to sew it also. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'll try to put up some pictures to help.

Thank you

I have same tear, I believe it is associated w replacing clutch slave cylinder but but sure.

Actually, a second look at ur description, it seems that the tear was made by the existing cut in carpet from factory. I believe this is there to mount bracket for holding down oem floor mats...you could always get the 2 piece oem mats which would cover this area.

A good temporary fix would be to sew it from the backside using a carpet needle. Use needle nose pliers or forceps to push the needle through the material and appropriate colored thread. If the rip is not too jagged this method should work pretty well.
