Asking 40 which means 37 is probably possible, maybe 36, which is a biblical bargain (hey, even at 40).

I believe this car has been on sale at that price for almost 2 years. Maybe they trying for twenty-five years and then they can title it as an antique vehicle.

That's right beebs, 08 and 09 had red stitching, but not gray, it's black. Just looks gray in the picture.

I bought an 08 brand new in 09 and paid a lot less back then. I could be tempted back into a S, but I need standard Bluetooth for my work and I can't see myself paying more for used, with the current appreciation of the S, than what I paid for new. This new '09 is special tho.

G-man, i believe you but those door panels and seats sure do look gray.

water spots on the air box.

lot of tire shine on those OE Potenzas.

good luck with sale at $40,000. 30-32, maybe. 72 miles isn't much.

if you bought it for $40k and drove it you would depreciate it fast. a collector might be the best bet.

i need a color other than Berlina.

So if someone bought and registered this car in 2016, would it come with the same factory warranty that the rest of us got?

The downside of a low mileage, 7 year old car is that unless it was in a dry, humidity free storage there may be surface rust in lots of areas. In addition, just sitting is really hard on brakes, engine seals, body rubber, electronics, etc. Plus, the valve train is bone dry and I would darn sure pull the valve cover and pour some break-in lube on the cams before I fired her up.
Still, what can you buy that has an S's performance today for the mid 30's?

i believe the warranty, as "they" say, has expired. "there is nothing we can do for you."

the mustang and camero 6-cylinders are pretty quick. they are ubiquitous; so much that if you've seen one stang or 'maro, you've seen 'em all. nice cars they are though they are not uncommon.

G1, how fun is that mustang? i know it is a barrel of monkeys but you are saying you could be tempted back to an S. i know you have 2 gazillion hp and 2.5 tons of torque. you could leave that all behind? V8, as in, i coulda had a V8. burbling' and gurgling'. i need to go and drive one of those Fords. what do you do with 400+ horsepower?

one other thing. i want to be able to drive it if i own it.

kg, you are too funny. you need to stop.

Jim, Beebs, that's an interesting question about the warranty. The new car warranty starts when a customer takes retail delivery of the vehicle and Honda is informed of the sale date. Theoretically, if this vehicle has never been registered and the dealership never "punched" the vehicle thru Honda as a sold unit, this is still a brand new vehicle with the full warranty intact. However, this one may be up to Honda to decide.

Beebs, regarding the 400+ hp, you kno that saying about power corrupts and absolute power............... But, I would give it all up for something Honda since eyecellem, but........... now where is that Civic Type R, oh... and the new S?

That car has been listed for some time. It will be listed for some time. Lots of (sort of) 08-09s with 20-30K on them running from $23K-$26.
My bone stock, one owner, 09 with 31 on the clock (AZ car) was $27 four years ago. I was a little mystified by the red stitching and finally realized that it was not from replacement seats. Only 38 of those yellow beasts in the USA.

Type R Civic will be here late Spring 2016. I already have a deposit on the first one that comes off the truck from my Honda dealer here.

Awright' Ken, I've never thought of you as someone who smokes the strange stuff, but maybe you should have mailed that deposit to me.

My sources tell me end of first quarter (March) we're gonna get the regular old Civic coupe, a little later the Civic hatchback, then even later the SI coupe and sedan and if we're real lucky, the Type R as a 2017 model, most likely the end of 2016 (Nov/Dec). I'm taking the first one off the boat, so you can have the 2nd.

Yep. Talking to the Honda rep...think I typed 2016 should have been Spring 2017. SI will be out late Summer or early Fall. I was thinking about getting another SI before Honda stated definitively that the Type R will be available in the States (and it's about time. I drove one in Europe, a great car and VERY fast).
