Vortech or Greddy?

I was wondering which is better the Greddy Turbo Kit or the Vortech V-2 SQ SC-Triim Supercharger kit? Off of intensepower.com I saw them and wanted to upgrade my AP1. Which one is better? And does the Greddy come with a front mount intercooler? Thanks I'm new BTW.

I have vortech on mine. Which is better depends on what you really want. I hear that the greddy turbo is kinda mild, but from what i understand is that turbos deliver power earlier than vortech.

So, i think that the greddy kit will give you the punch you want at lower rpm, vortech at higher rpm. Vortech might be easier to handle for everyday driving. Greddy will strengthen the weakness of the S, where vortech will enhance the existing characteristics of the S.

I think the greddy does have a front mount intercooler.

Thanks for your response. I'm still contemplating on which one. They both sound good in both of their different pros. I have a daily driver car and my S is a nice weather fun car. Definitely something to think about what I want.

I say votech as well.. Greddy is not bad but your stuck at around 300whp, where as with vortech you will have roughly 300 on stock boost, and if you ever decide down the road you can up the boost and bring it closer to 400.

I was in the same position as you before i went with vortech. I chose vortech because with the kit i got (V-3 SCi-Trim), no tuning was required, just Hondata reflash. I drove away with everything done, but $6k lighter in the wallet.

I bought my kit from www.superchargersonline.com, i got a decent deal from them.

I needed a new clutch (i got ACT HDSS), because it would slip when shifting at 7k rpm or higher.

That does sound good. All I would need is the clutch too? I got CR suspension/sway bars put on and I might get stoptech's front and rear brake kits. How many miles do you have on your engine?

For a new clutch, i think it depends on how much hp you get out of the kit. The stock clutch on mine wasnt holding up when shifting at high rpms, too much power i guess. Your experience might be different, depending on how well your tune is. You might not need a new clutch, but if you were planning on getting one anyway, might as well get it done when you get the sc/tc installed.

Read about their warranty coverage too, pay attention to the mileage they cover. I think it covers only the first 36k miles that are on the engine, so if you have more than that, i dont think the warranty is worth anything, but you should call vortech directly to find out.

Call vortech directly, let them tell you how the warranty would work on your car:

47k going boosted is not a whole lot I wouldn't worry about it. Deff not worth buying a new motor
