water still leaking into trunk

Attachment 5292so after I thought I fixed the leaking water into my trunk, I found some more in there. I am pretty sure I found the source, it is right behind the gas neck somewhere, on each side... the water is slowly leaking down into my trunk compartment. does anybody have any ideas where this might be coming from? someone please help! Would a hardtop cure this problem?

What event caused this leak? Was it rain?

That picture has me confused. Have you got one from farther back?

Yes rain causes this problem. I live in washington and it has been pouring the last few days. That picture is behind the gas neck in my trunk, I stuck my hand back there and felt water.

Given that location, my first investigation would be to see if the rear drain is clogged. That area is adjacent to the area of the rear drain.

I haven't brought my car home yet. So, I can't verify that you can do this. The rear drain is a square-ish plastic bowl that catches all of the run off from the top at the corners just adjacent to the roll hoops. The bowl attaches to a tube that runs down into the rear wheelhouse (wheel well). There is a check valve that connects to the tube in the wheehouse.

I think that you can pull the rear wheel and remove the valve. If the tube behind it is full of leaf and other debris, then you likely have a clogged drain. If so, you'll need to figure a way to vacuum it with a small hose and pull the debris out.
