Have you guys had any experience with this company? They have pretty good reviews and apparently "the best fitting replica mugen hardtop on the market".

it looks like i could have one ordered with 2 tone black sides and the top painted and window installed shipped to my front door with hardware for around $1800

Like you I've heard good things about them but have no direct experience. I've been thinking about a HT for the S but would prefer the factory because the rear window extends to the side more, opening up a blind spot to the side-rear.

I love the look of the hardtops but doubt I'd ever get one.

I mean i would love to have one but the thought of buying an oem hardtop for 3000 is crazy. I actually like the look of mugen hardtops vs the oem though

It is but anymore these are really an investment. I could sell my hardtop for more than I paid for it. Plus the fit and finish is outstanding!

These tops are great if you install them right. Look at that thread and you'll see my review.

I had to have an OEM HT for my S but found it impractical.

If you go somewhere with it and want to put the top down you can't.

So I just use mine now when I store the car for the winter to preserve the soft top from vermin.

I used to think that too till I made a hardtop hoist in the garage. Takes like 2-3 minutes to take on or off by myself.

You're right about the second part. But you could always take it off before leaving your house and if you need it back on (if it starts to rain or something) just raise the soft top.

Oh it just takes a few minutes to take it off or put it on but my point is if I leave my house for a drive and it turns out to be a really nice day I'm stuck with the ht for the day.

So I just never put it on. I just use the rag top if needed.
