You can get a JDM engine from a number of places cheaper than you can buy another S2k.

Damn, sorry to hear Jim! KGF is correct. If the body is still in good shape that would be the route I would go.

Yep. Remotor or rebuild is the way I would go. But if you have to get rid of it contact me. I have a stolen ( and striped ) AP1 and I could make another one out of two. Or better yet maybe it just needs another head. Do you feel lucky ? pull the head off. good luck.

You can get it rebuilt by Inline Pro in Springfield VA for around $5k and you'll have around 250hp and more torque. Course that may be a bit of a drive...

Body is good. Needs paint (clear coat looks like a bad sunburn peeling) and needs a new top. All in, I'd probably be dropping about $9k into it. I'm leaning towards an ap2. I'd like speakers in the headrests, tweeters in the doors and I like the ap2 tail lights much better. I'll miss my amber in the headlights but that's not a big deal. I'm thinking of putting it on Craigslist for $5k and see what happens. My buddy that is a Honda mechanic in San Diego says he thinks I might be able to get close to that. Worth a try.
I saw a 2005 silver NSX on CarsForSale.com with 15k on it for $29k (not that I have that). The site said it was listed $72k under what it was valued at. Even if it was a salvage, that's a great price. There was no mention of iy being in a wreck. I should have dropped the guy a note. It was gone in the morning. But you know what they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

In Cali clean AP1's or 2's are priced waaay crazy. Yeah, that NSX was likely missing half the vehicle to be that low. I've seen my 1990 or close with over 100k miles still going for 30k.

Look for cars for sale in Canada. Initially the price may look high, but when you factor in the currency exchange you may be surprised.
Another thing to consider is that most of the Canada cars are seasonal. You never see any on the road in the winter.

Other good cars can be found in Arizona and Texas. I found mine in Phoenix.

If you can get 5k that would be great. I need a no drivetrain shell but my budget will only support about $3500
