P0498 thrown after winter storage

Anyone have experience with this? Not alot of S2k specific info on the web for this. Car was stored for winter, fired up fine, threw a CEL, after finally finding OBDII port i scanned it and cleared it, refired and it was back, same code P0498. This is apparently the "evaporative emission canister vent shut valve" based on common honda searches but most of that comes from VRC, RSX etc. not S2k specific.

I have had friends with civics in winter climates had the valve fail due to road salt. You could bench test the valve before replacing it.
