Vibration/rattle at low rpms

Hi All. I've noticed a vibration and rattle at low rpm. It sounds almost as if an exhaust bracket is loose but my mechanic says that the exhaust seems ok. When I increase the rpm the vibration and noise goes away. The car is doing about 109km (about 68thou miles.) any suggestions?

i think that the header heat shield is know to come loose and rattle.

how low are the rpm when you get the vibe?

if you don't give her enough gas from a dead stop, she will vibrate / shudder. you coming off the line at 1500 to 2000 rpm?

Thanks BB. I'd say about 1500; nothing too dramatic. I will have a look at the header shield.

+1 on the shielding either at the header or the Catalytic convertor.

Check your exhaust bearings. Sometimes a bearing can break and restrict exhaust flow and cause an annoying rattle.

Gagetman, thanks as well for the information on the exhaust bearings. While I'm looking into that , I also plan to check the phase inducer for the warp energizer conversion matrix. That has been known to work loose from time to time.

If it's not a heat shield then check your spark plug cover. It is metal and when it rattles, sounds just like a heat shield.
