crap...

So driving the S the other day (00 with 90K) and came to a stop light and the car stalled. Didn't think anything of it but now it is idling weird. RPMs kinda go up and down to the point of almost stalling. If I hit the throttle, when the RPMs come down, it sometimes stalls. CEL now is on but not flashing. Going to have the code read after work but was wondering if it could just be bad gas (wishful thinking).

Pretty sure the CEL will let you know, could be a number of things. If you had the plug, there are a number of apps that will do that for you.

I know. Taking a scan tool home from work to check the code. It's not missing, just running like crap. Exhaust kinda smells rich. We'll see tonight....

This is going to be one of the longest days at work you have had in a while... keep us posted, interested to see if it is the IAC.

I was thinking about that. I have some carb cleaner but haven't gotten around to cleaning it.

you got a carb?

i'd whack my MAP first thing and make sure that it was properly secured. search / google if necessary. common problem on the early cars. symptoms sound right.

Tried whacking the MAP, nothing. Read the code and the only one in there was a P0122- TPS low circuit voltage. Cleared the code and checked the wiring for the TPS. It is fine. Cleaned TPS, MAP, and IAC. Also cleaned inside of throttle body. Plugged everything back in and started and.......... it runs good! We'll see if the light comes back on.

You'll need to make a TPS report now.
