Which direction to install wheel bearings?

Hi guys. I am going to be installing new rear wheel bearings this weekend. I just got my bearings in the mail and it isn't obvious which side goes out when installing. I have seen pictures of the OEM bearings, and there is a black seal that apparently is installed facing outwards. These bearings (Beck/Arnley) are symmetrical and only have the part number inscribed on one side.

Any suggestions?

Have you considered calling who you ordered them from?

I agree with Rmurphy. Give them a call. They should be able to tell you.
