CEL, VSA light, caution light

My check engine light is on due to a #3 cylinder misfire. My VSA light and caution light (triangle with exclamation point inside) come on normally at idle speeds (at a red light or stopped in traffic) and then goes away a few minutes after cruise speed, but the CEL does not go away. I believe the misfire is telling the computer that the car is slipping when it is not and triggers the VSA light. The only code I get is #3 cylinder misfire. I have replaced all the spark plugs with OEM plugs as well as the #3 coil. I suppose my next step is a valve adjustment. My S2000 is a 2006 with 70,000 miles on her. Any ideas?

I know this is an old thread, but I have exactly the same problem with my '06 at 62,000 miles. Have replaced the plugs, only CEL code showing in the history is the misfire. I've replaced the plugs with OEM NGK's, no luck. Any ideas?

I still have the same lights (CEL and VSA) but was able to get them to go out for quite some time by putting some Techron by Cheveron fuel injector cleaner in my fuel tank. The misfire is registered only at idle rpm which makes me believe it is a fuel injector issue. Recent treatments of the fuel injector cleaner have been unsuccessful. I will eventually get around to changing the injector.

Follow up: my problem was actually due to valves out of adjustment. My #2 and #3 exhaust valves were too tight. Post adjustment, the car runs excellent with zero lights. Actually the maint manual calls for a valve adjustment around 90k miles.

How much $$ did the valve adjustment cost? Was it at a Honda dealer or an independent shop?

I would advise against going to a dealer, in order to do a valve adjustment the engine needs to sit over night to where the motor is cold. Something the dealer is usually unwilling to do, plus I don't trust them to do the job correctly.
