Possible new owner?

Hey, guys. I've been looking at the S2000 for a while now, and it's getting close to time for me to get my next car. And I was wondering if you all could help me out. I found one that I really like, but I'm worried that the price is too high.

http://hondamarysville.com/Columbus-...-Car/21836701/

Info:
2000 Berlina Black with Black/Red interior
70,000 miles
$15,838
Clean CarFax - 2 Owners

It seems to be stock, beyond the front lip. And it's the color combo that I've been desiring for a while now. I haven't gone and test driven it yet, since it's three hours away from where I live. Is this price too high for this mileage? Would I be able to get them to lower it at all, do you think?

If I'm missing any info that is needed that I can give, just ask.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

According to KBB it's a great price.

I've learned, for the most part, to not trust KBB. They always seem ridiculously high on their prices.

Sounds very high to me. I just picked up a 2003 in MI (North of you a couple hours) that had great mechanicals, but had a dozen paint blemishes, and I got it for $10K.

Nice car but I think price is a little high for 2000 year, I picked my 03 up several years ago ( private sale ) for 12,500, had 69,000 on clock, new robbins top, paint body in great shape, sound engine, interior was in great shape..... haven't done anything to it but put 17" wheels off a 2007 year.....

That's actually what I was considering doing. If the price hasn't lowered at all by the time I go see it.

What was the mileage on it? And, isn't paint quite expensive to fix?

Well you have to keep in mind that it IS through a dealership. And, it seems that the prices have gone up a little on them (at least over the course of the year that I've been interested in them). Is that the case or am I just bonkers?

In my opinion it is hard to spot a S2000 in a remarkable condition. Apparently that car seems to be in awesome shape. The paint is fresh and the dimensions seem to be ok. So if the condition is good, go ahead and purchase it rather than saving few bucks on a crappy one.

Price seems very high to me. Did you look at NADA? I agree that KBB is often high.

Late fall/winter is especially a buyers market. I think $15k out the door may even be high.

ACTUALLY, the just lowered the price to 13.9 the other day. I think I may be able to get them down to 13k. HOPEFULLY. But at least 13.5 after taxes and such.

The only reason I'm going with an ap1 as opposed to an ap2 is insurance costs. Or I'd jump on that offer right away. Thanks for the offer, though.

Well.... That one sold. And so I think I'm tired of looking for a lower year one just for the insurance reasons. Which brings me to this:

http://www.mershons.com/car_detail.asp?ID=7483
It's a 2004 Silverstone with Black/red interior
76,000 miles
$13,900 price tag

I'm waiting to hear back from them about whether or not it has a clean CarFax and title. If everything ends up checking out A-Ok, would you guys say go for it?

If you can live with the modifications (exhaust, suspension, intake, etc.) and it checks out alright it might be worth it. Have it checked thoroughly by a certified mechanic, check that all the VIN tags on the major panels match, look for leakage underneath and check the soft top for rips. It appears the top is not sitting fully down and may need new tension straps.
