top speed of s2k....

I've read that it's got a governor at 145. I've never had a chance to go over 120.

If it's like everything else (bikes for a fact) the speedo's're probably readin' roughly 10% faster than you're really goin' anyway.
I'm not certain that it's that way on the Stewie, but I'd be surprised if somehow it snuck by this current practice that's "installed" on most everything else right from, I believe, all of the factories.
Be well.

RE: speedo accuracy

I believe at 60kmh it is meant to be accurate,
when the speedo says 100kmh I think you are only travelling at 96kmh.

I've Pushed, and I mean pushed 145. Downwind. It does reach it fairly quickly and I do bounce the rev limiter, but it varies. More gas, less gas, fat passenger, no passenger.. You get the picture. But I did read a funny ad in the AutoTrader one time. The guy said his "s" went 202mph, Yes 202mph! I laughed for days...

202mph? Maybe if you dropped it out of a cargo plane at 30,000 feet

The AP1 is drag limited to the mid 150s (indicated)
The AP2 is gear limited to the mid 140s (indicated)

Comin' in kinda late guys, but am I readin' that correctly? Gosh's got the landscape goin' by to the tune of 150 n' he's takin' pictures of the speedo with a cell phone?
Y'know . . it's said that God smiles n' forgives alotta stupid screw-ups by little children n' drunks; neither of which have any reason to be behind the wheel of a car.
Havin' the good fortune to find oneself able to have something as potent as an S2000, it just seems wise to have respect for that which could render you into so much compressed guava jelly in a nano-second.
"There's old pilots, n' there's bold pilots. Ain't no old, bold pilots".
Let's be careful out there.

Point taken. But passengers should stay behind the line n' not bother the driver while the bus is in motion.
Aaay . . whudduya think? Is this piece part of the driver or the passenger? Dunno, but here's a cell phone.
'Sorry. It's too serious (as in final) for that kinda @*#&.
Be well.

I have been to 135 in mine. It felt stable, but I wasn't about to turn loose of the wheel to take any pictures. The speed was still on the rise, I had enough, not the car. I don't know about the upper numbers, but checked against GPS, my speedometer is accurate to at least 70 mph.

OK there are a few factors here:
- top up/ top down. Having the roof up can get a few extra mph over top down due to drag.

- In general a N/A S2000 will not reach redline in 6th gear due to drag limitations. Drag limitations on N/A S2000s place top speed in 5th gear.

- 5th gear top speed is limited by gearing.

There has been a video posted in the past by a user S2KDave on another forum, which was done on a downhill grade topping out at approx 174 mph.

Your BS is so deep, you need wading pants to get through it.

172 is not reachable in the S unless you are free falling out of a plane
The car is drag limited to the 150s indicated.

There is no top speed governor in this car.

If you had the redline fuel cutoff removed, how was it 'tacked out' The car should in theory just keep revving until the engine seized... unless of course it was DRAG LIMITED... in which case the top speed is in the 150s.

Projector headlights? All S2000s have projector headlights. How is this a mod?

But best of all, and absolute proof that you are completely full of ****, Hondata does not offer ANY ECU upgrades for the S2000, and never has.
http://www.hondata.com/wizard/wiz_s2000.html
The S2000 is tuned very aggressively from the factory. Hondata ECU upgrades are for commuter cars like the RSX.

Just a wild guess here, but you don't even have a S2000 do you? I'm guessing Civintegra with a huge wing in the back.

s2knit is totally full of it, i called hondata and talked to their main guy on the phone and when i went to sema, no s2000 ecu upgrades of anykind, all they make is the intake gasket, nor any plans of making an ecu upgrade, just stop s2knit, if u lie, u will be flamed

2004 Top Speed

152 MPH per standard speedometer and tach, 8200 redline. Car was rock steady, top up, windows closed on I-77 at night in South Carolina in 2004. Radar detector on. Awesome car.

Sorry - hit 152 in 6th. 5th only good for about 135. Takes a long time, but it will redline in 6th.
