RL's right, you guys are mean

16 year old kids get Mustangs or other high powered cars ALL THE TIME. This is another case of you guys thinking our beloved S is more than it actually is. Get over it guys.
i believe that most of us know what an S is. under 6000 rpm it is a sedate, mild mannered honda that gets great mileage. it is easy to maintain, inexpensive, and durable. in its stock version it is very capable :

0-60 in less than 6 seconds
150 top speed
100 in the quarter
it has the ability to make 90° turns at 50, but watch the oversteer.

this is nothing; there are many cars on the street that outperform the S. the honda S2000 is just an ordinary car, unworthy of praise.

i don't believe that the dead kid knew imola from shinola. he was never known to be careless, yet he was. i don't believe in luck; perhaps in fate, and fate rides along every time you push the red start button. try not to tempt it.

Sad though that what trumpts it all is this essience of life... damn. Gotta be responsible....

Just curious, why/how were you able to flip most of your cars?

I've owned alot of 4X4 stuff and really like the woods. doesn't take a lot to flip a yoyo on 38's going down the right trails, but the key to this is even literally flipping a truck hittin a ditch for fun was not like driving fast on snowy roads I didn't endanger everyone around just me . Other then that I flipped a car off a bridge back in 2003 because I hit the ole A-frame guard just right trying to avoid a stumpid driver in my lane (i was going a 5mph over the speed but that was enough to cause me to swim back to shore after a 20ft drop)

I think instead of naggin back in froward with each other we all just need to remember that 16 to 80 none of us are bullet proof. Just remember that if you're goin to do dumb things try to be smart about it. If you can see a house, a person, a car, or a sidewalk, or even a blind curve just look down at ur speed and really think about it. I'm guilty of puttin every car the would do it in +100 area and still do but but a straight area of the interstate a 3am is lots safer then a city street with snow

This debate has surfaced many times and there's never a right or wrong I guess. Some young drivers are capable and some are not. Some are responsible and some are not. Some make bad decisions and some don't. Some learn from their mistakes and some don't get a second chance.

It's just that the odds are against young drivers. Relatively little experience, think they're invincible, provoked by peer pressure and they feel the need to show off. They think they are perfectly capable, whether they are or not.

Back in pre-historic times, when I was 17, I was the best driver in the world, just ask me. Until one night I blew through an intersection at well over 100 miles per hour in my dad's 4500 lb convertible, standing on the brakes (no discs back then) and she ain't slowin down a bit. Avoiding stuff all over the place and the cute little blonde next to me is now a raving lunatic. Fortunately, the only thing that was wrecked that night was my ego and a set of tires.

I came close to buyin' the farm and it knocked some sense into me. I'm lucky and I never forget it.

Bottom line there are two sets of parents that will always think of the things they should have done and should not have done. They will also ever forgive themselves of all those things noted above. I have done many many stupid things as young man as well as a old one. How many times did we take that corner a little too fast or apex a blind corner and got lucky, I know I have. It is also a tragedy no matter how it happened or what kind of car it was. Speaking as a father of two I can tell you every time my little girls leave the house I pray i never get that phone call or knock on the door.

Went driving today and took it cautiously because there was water on some of the corners as well as loose rock. A youngster in a Jaguar saloon gets on my tail, so I picked it up a bit but slowed down for the water. on one 90 degree corner I heard 4 wheels breaking loose. Common sense comes as you get older...if you survive.
