Central CT Drives & Meets

Okay, I figure since not much is happening NE wise and I'm in central CT and always looking for a drive I'd start a thread for it. Hopfully we'll get some drives, meets or whatever going here.

Today is a very nice day and I'm contemplating a drive, not sure where, just gonna go! Unless anyone is out there and wants to meet up for a drive? Ears open but only for a bit as soon I'm outta here!

Took a quickie drive through some back road twisties today. Don't know if anyone else encounters anything like this but around here lately we've been getting whacked with some heavy storms. Anyway, ya gotta pay close attention to the roads and can't really get on it, there tends to be a lot of debris in the roads and actually a few hangers from trees over the roads. A tad scarey... Don't want to hurt my buddy, Red. Runnin' over branches can cause a slap back leadin' to scratches, dents or worse!

So as this season winds down

I was wondering if anyone would like to take some time to enjoy themselves and their car in the up coming week or weekend? Looks like we may actually get some decent weather for a change, hopefully...

Here's what it is.

1) Drink at least a quart of Wild Turkey.

2) Put the top down if it already isn't.

3) Take off all yer cloths.

4) Git in yer S, fire it up an take off pedal to th' metal in search of wild turkeys to "RUN" over. Sweeet

5) If ya don't agree ya ain't had enough Wild Turkey!

Hey SRR! What town ya from? Took the S out for a ride today since the roads were mostly dry. Stopped for gas, when I was pulling out of the station I noticed someone was taking a picture of my car. COOL!

These are the drives listed at the above site. The "Central CT Drives" I put in bold. I don't know where the "Drive the Wine Country of CT - 6/20" will be, it may well be in Central CT as well...

CT – SPRING Drive in Litchfield County - 4/19
CT - Milford Hooters Meet - 5/3
MA – SPRING Drive the Mohawk - 5/16
CT – Drive the Wine Country of CT - 6/20
CT – Vernon Hooters Meet - 10/4
MA – FALL Drive the Mohawk - 10/18
CT – FALL Drive in Litchfield County - 11/8

I'd like to get a meet in March if anyone is interested in doing something like that. Weather permittin of course... I'm thinkin maybe a run to LaSalle's in Collinsville (lunch) then a drive to BARKHAMSTED - THE SAVILLE DAM More pics and info

If we can get something going and good weather maybe we can make a day of it and go back to Collinsvile, or somewhere else en route for dinner???

Probably have to do it on the fly though with little planing. The weather as we know all to well can change quickly around here. I'd say we can plan tentatively a week in advance and if the weather holds we go for it. Unless we just drive whatever works for the conditions and make the meet the object and not our favorite vehicles?

I'm heading out shortly to LaSalle's in Collinsville. Probably hang around there a bit, enjoy a coffee

in the sunshine!

Hoping to get there around 1:30PM hang around an hour maybe. Anyone up to a ride before the weather turns to crap again is welcome to show. Be nice to see another S up there...

Edit: Yes this is today as in now. Sorry for short notice but in NE you know how it is. The weathers good you roll.

am all over CT.. from hartford area to the norwich area i have been driving the S alot the past few weeks.... as long as its niceout....we should setup a local cruise

Read my posts here, been tryin' to hook everone up for a while... Apparently everyone works way to much and drives their S's very little... I'm kinda semi-retired so I have more time then most people and goin crazy cause no one does anything!

S2KI (NES2KO) has several drives through out the season, a couple here in central CT.

I'd love to get stuff going from this forum. I ended up having a nice drive Sunday, covered a lot of territory. I figured I'd see something in the "Sightings Forums" of either board but nothing... I know I didn't see one S Sunday except for one at a dealer...

Maybe we can set some "Pencil Drives", pencil them in pending weather? Ideas?

Yah, that would end up worse. I don't do phones, the disconnected generation... Anybody that ever wants to talk to me has to email!

Really, I haven't and will never own a cell phone, never. Can't understand being on a phone in a constant state of conversation?

There is just reason in the world to have to have immediate contact and if there's a real emergency there are millions of cell phones in use at any given second at any given location anywhere on earth!

I HAVE A IPHONE n i do everything on it, from myspace to face book to s2000.com lol but i enjoy life man.... either be at parties, or gokarting in wallingford out riding the yamaha R1 or just chilling with the bros at home we r all into cars n we have some really nice machines. from jdm boosted integras to 12 second all motor civics daily driven with full interior,.... your more than welcome to come by the house in windsor on a sunday afternoon.. we r always chilling n drinking lol aight

Sounds like when I and my friends were young... I don't party much these days but still get out and drink way to much coffee! Most of my old buddies are couch rats now...

Luckily I took a slightly different road... I try to get them to do stuff and go places but...

The toys keep me young I guess and the people that come with em! We'll hook up some time no doubt!

I have friends that go carting in Wallingford tuesday nights but I can't go cuz it's JAM night at my house. Dammit.

So I put a few miles on the S Sunday. From Bristol west to Thomaston on RT 6 then to RT 8 north to Litchfield. Lunch at Aspen Garden, outside dining. Put the top down and drove off south through Harwinton and Burlington. Pit stop in Bristol then off to Collinsvile, New Hartford, Barkhamsted (reservoir still frozen solid) but nice view none the less and pretty much back the way I came. Saw an STI, he was behind me for a while but never made any fun... Back home parked the S and took the bike out. Getting late and cooler so I just went to one of the local coffee shops, Whole Donut at corner of RT 6 and RT 229. Hanging around outside, saw a Suzuka AP1 across the street pulling out of a side street. Waved hoping he'd see and come over but he was to busy contending with traffic... Maybe if I had the S he would have noticed... Wonder if he comes to this site or the other? You just don't see many S2000's especially around here... I should post a cars and coffee around here. I'm always drinking way to much coffee! Mmmmm coffee!

Hey guys.... I'm another new Central CT owner here. Just picked up and '01 spa yellow S2000 2 days a go. I'd be up for a drive somewhere for a meal and a couple beers. I'm from Lebanon, so that's where i'd be comin' from. I run a campground here in Lebanon, so I work everyday, but evenings during the week or Sunday's after noon are OK with me.

I was just down East Hamton last week. Took a drive to Angelicos Lakehouse Restaurant at 81 N Main St. Great place for a meet. SRR is down that way somewhere, I think he said Colchester. He has friends with S's as well. He and a friend have yellow also.

Do you own the camp ground? Got a link?

Hopefully we can meet up some time.

We used to camp but didn't travel around. We had a seasonal site up our way for 14 years! It was fun, campfires and brews... ahhhh...

Got a significant other? Ever go to that restaurant? A co-worker where my wife used to work, laid off, told her about it. We liked it, nice attmosphere being across from the lake.

Go to this site yet http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=9 It's pretty active but mostly Massachusettes people and activities. We just did a drive from Derby through Litchfield, it was nice. There's a drive coming up but it's in Deerfield MA, hour and a half just to get to the start point and it's a day long event so I probably won't make that one... I have too many things that need to be done but you understand that no doubt!

Lunch at Aspen Garden, outside dining. Put the top down and drove off south through Harwinton and Burlington. Pit stop in Bristol then off to Collinsvile, New Hartford, Barkhamsted (reservoir still frozen solid) but nice view none the less and pretty much back the way I came. Saw an STI, he was behind me for a while but never made any fun... Back home parked the S and took the bike out. Getting late and cooler so I just went to one of the local coffee shops, Whole Donut at corner of RT 6 and RT 229. Hanging around outside, saw a Suzuka AP1 across the street pulling out of a side street. Waved hoping he'd see and come over but he was to busy contending with traffic... Maybe if I had the S he would have noticed... Wonder if he comes to this site or the other? You just don't see many S2000's especially around here... I should post a cars and coffee around here. I'd be up for a drive somewhere for a meal and a couple beers. I'm from Lebanon, so that's where i'd be comin' from. I run a campground here in Lebanon, so I work everyday, but evenings during the week or Sunday's after noon are OK with me. Brian

Took a drive to Angelicos Lakehouse Restaurant at 81 N Main St. Great place for a meet. SRR is down that way somewhere, I think he said Colchester. He has friends with S's as well. It was fun, campfires and brews... ahhhh... Got a significant other? Ever go to that restaurant? A co-worker where my wife used to work, laid off, told her about it. We liked it, nice attmosphere being across from the lake. Go to this site yet http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=9 It's pretty active but mostly Massachusettes people and activities. We just did a drive from Derby through Litchfield, it was nice. There's a drive coming up but it's in Deerfield MA, hour and a half just to get to the start point and it's a day long event so I probably won't make that one... I have too many things that need to be done but you understand that no doubt! __________________ FAST THINKERS DRIVE FAST! Why expect less?
