Wow, Friday's are almost undoable for me.... I'll see what I can do to make it. If I can get someone to cover my duties here at the campground on Friday night, I'll be there. Still too soon to tell though.

Mmmm, ladies in little clothes...

Oh, sorry, WELCOME to the site! I see this is post one! Check out the site, I think you'll like it. It's quieter here. If we can get some regular meets going this would be a better place for us. Less noise if ya know what I mean...

Spread the word... Get some of the other "Central Connecticut" people over here.

Thought it may be tough for you but the good news is it is at 7pm... When we camped we wanted to be in front of the campfire, brew in hand by 7!

Hopefully you can get away. Check out S2KI, lots of meets there... I try to post some of them here. I was posting more but it was falling on deaf ears. Hopefully some new people will start coming by here and we'll be able to make a go of the opportunity here.

Did I ask before about the name georgeorge?

problem is that Fiday night is our Bingo night here at the campground and we open the snack bar up for the bingo players and I'm usually cooking. I'll have to see if I can find a new head cook!
Georgeorge comes from back when the internet was first started, I needed to come up with a username for some site. My daughter was 3 or 4 and she was watching george of the jungle. So I was listening to that song and just used the name georgeorge and it's stuck ever since. I use it for everything.

The camp have paved roads, big paved lot? Might be a good place for a meet... Got grills? Could open the concession stand... Nice place(s) to drive to from there?

Always thinking of meets and drives...

Nope... dirt roads and a small parking lot. Besides, that would be a sucky ride for me!

Typical camp roads eh! Hey, can't suck to bad, there are worse jobs out there. And you own the joint right? Well, almost...

Good to meet ya Brian!

It was a good meet considering the weather was the last to cooperate!

That was somthing how lotus7racer let anyone who wanted to, take his sweet ride for a drive! That was one nice piece of work!

DON, don't know if ya come by here but this was a car you'd have loved!

Brian. Thinking about doing more meets. What days/times are best and what are doable? I just read back into the posts and found this post from you. "evenings during the week or Sunday's after noon are OK with me." That about it or can you squeek by some other times? Just like to look at options while trying to do what works for most people.

For us my wife likes Sunday afternoons. What would you think about Litchfield? Aspen Garden restaurant, I mentioned it tonight at the meet. Outdoor dining, reasonable prices and some sweet roads... Another possibility is Angelicos in is it East Hampton? Can never remember the town...

Anyone else that peeks there heads in here should post some input as well. Hopefully some of the others from tonights meet will come by this site.

Yeah those are really the best day/times for me. And as I say that I just realized that I should probably remove Wednesdays from the mix because I Have Board of Director's meetings for CCOA (CT Campground Owners Assn.) every third wednesday and regular CCOA membership meetings on the first Wednesday of the month.

It was great to meet you guys... to put faces to screen-names.

Great! Be good to see ya again!
Keep for the weather...

Have any weather issues your way yesterday?

I had an open roof due to chimney replacement. It was tarped off etc but with the mega storm we got over here the water found it's way in... Luckily no damage, had some old pans and stuff in the attic to catch it and I went up during the storm and put a bigger tarp up. Got real lucky!

Great meet today. Several people showed up and a good time was had by all. An impromptu drive in Central CT developed and it was great!

Leading to this, I'm guaging interest in a drive and meet soon to come. I'll start a thread for this and we'll see where it goes! Look for "Litchfield Fall Foliage Meet" in this thread, likely the next post! Or go here.

Litchfield Fall Foliage Meet. Leaves, lunch and a drive...

So I attended the Hooters of Manchester Meet today.

A few of us did talk about maybe another meet this fall, soon, lunch and maybe a drive in the Litchfield area. Aspen Garden in Litchfield was mentioned as a good lunch spot. Address below, they have no web site...

Aspen Garden Restaurant
51 West St
Litchfield, CT 06759-3501
Phone: 860-567-9477

My wife and I had considered going there yesterday (Saturday) but it didn't happen. We ended up going there this evening for dinner, ate outside. It was great, I had a very good calzone, ate only half, to big for one sitting while the wife had a wonderful lamb shank. The prices are reasonable and everthing I've ever had there is very good. Full alcohol is available for those that enjoy a cocktail.

So this brings me to ask who would be interested in such a meet?

I'm thinking about as soon as this coming weekend or the next. It would be nice to catch good foliage. We could push it out an additional week but the foliage may be past peak.

My wife has church Sundays so she rarely makes a meet so I'd like to gauge who can do Saturdays. If Sundays are better it's no big deal, she's not a big fan any way but it would be nice to get her out to more meets with me. I feel bad when other gals show up and they're the only ones... These aren't just guy meets and I know from personal experience we've got women owners out there! I want everyone to feel welcome and part of the group and fun.

I know there are some other meets planned out there so we'll have to check dates to see if any dates would be bad for anyone that may be attending those drives and meets.

So that's it. What's yer pleasure? Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Go for it!

Litchfield Fall Foliage Meet, Leaves, lunch and a drive...

Looks like the MOHAWK TRAIL DRIVE is cancelled. Check the link to be sure. As of this posting it was canceled but others may pick it up, ya never know...

Meanwhile I'm offering this up as a possible alternative if I'm up to it tomorrow (Sunday 11-1-09) and the weather is decent. Litchfield Fall Foliage Meet, Leaves, lunch and a drive...

Check the link for info on this. This is short notice so any further posting and info will only be found there.
