I have 205 in the front and 225 in the rear could i put the rear tires on the front and get wider on the back b/c my rear tires are good and front are crap.

I think you are lookin to make a lot of trouble for yourself. I would replace the tires with the tires that came on the car new or at the very least the same size tires from a compariable brand. In my opinion you can't add much to a S2000 to improve it over stock. From all that I have read on this forum you gain next to nothing perhaps 5 to 10 percent and spend big bucks to do even that. And I would suspect even the guys who have gone to larger tires will tell you that wheels will also be needed. Why would you want to mess with what works so nicely. JEH

You guys may already know this but the cars have now been equipped with 215/45 x 17" up front and 245/40 x 17" on the rear, stock. That's pretty wide for the size of the car.

If you're not going with stock S02's then you need to go 225 in front and 245 in the rear on the 16" wheels.

The best improvement you can make in tires is to Buy Potensa RE-01R tires in the stock sizes. If you are in an area which is warm all year they will out perform SO2's in dry or wet. But the S will always wear the rear tires first at about a 2:1 ratio. That is the nature of the beast. Change the stagger and watch the the crash from the windshield or the mirror depending on your skill.

Anybody running Toyo R888, RA1s, or Falken Azenis?

Have heard the new Azenis don't get as greasy on longer autocross runs as the old ones. Curious if that is true.

I've run RA1s before and like the fact that they are almost as grippy as Yokohoma A048s but don't heat cycle out as quickly like the Yokos - stay pretty sticky through the life of the tire.

Never run the R888 and would be curious to hear a report.

I just picked up a CR a few weeks ago and would like to mod wheels and tires right away before autocross season so I have some time to dial things in. Am thinking of dropping down to 16s and perhaps keeping stock tire widths of 215 up front and 255 in the rear.

I run RA-1's on the racetrack and on mountain drives. I love the feel and predictability.

I have run 225/50 on front and 245/45 on the rear, but that was with Kuhmo Victoracers. I actually ran 265 on the rear for 1 season. It can be done.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I run the old Azenis on the F(205/55) new on the R(225/50)on the OEM wheels.

For a daily driver setup,I liked the old tire better.I have 30K on the front but it'sime to replace.

The new Azenis doesn't come in 205/55/16.

You should run 225 in front and 245 in rear if not using OEM S02's. S02's were made larger than other brands.

Instead of Toyo or Falken, I would go for BF Goodrich. However, I wouldn't upgrade the wheel size for handling reasons. Did that and it took some adjustment on the setup, just to form 16" to 17". So if you really wanna go that wide, don't expect magic on handling...well and then don't worry about what tire you buy...
