Trunk Audio

Howdy,
I have a friend who's looking to see "what sorts of installs people have done in the trunk area. Amps, speakers, etc., just to get some ideas. I'm thinking re-fiberglassing the whole thing, but I still want it somewhat usable for at least a bag or two of groceries". Didn't find anything right on by searching, so does anyone have experience with this to share?

for audio, depends on how far you are willing to go. The premium option is to actually custom fit and mount 8'' boxes that go behind the rear of the seats, however since thats top dollar and requires modification the usual option is to mount a 10'' or 12'' in the center section or 2 8'' 's on the sides. I've seen some people remove their spare tire and modify the back wall and lay a sub flat, but thats personal preference.

I wound up putting in an Infinity Basslink II. I like it because it fits down in the spare tire well, but can still be easily removed. It puts out pretty good bass for such a small box.
I've looked into putting an enclosure in that area instead, but I travel a lot, and I really want to be able to carry a bag with me, and have room for a blown tire if that ever happened.

A friend of mine has his sub in the spare tire tool well and his amp is behind his seat. I know this because I was with him when he got a flat and he had his spare tire, but no tools. I wasn't in my S so my tools didn't work. We drove and found a folding lug wrench that he now carries with him, but he would still need a jack. We used mine that day.

Off-topic, but post relevant....I have a stealthbox in the spare tire well so I don't carry my tools either, but I took a towel and wrapped the jack in it and squeezed it in where the spare tire sits so that I have a jack in case of a flat. Doesn't rattle one bit.

I have a Bazooka sub sitting in the middle opening in my trunk. Its powered itself so I dont have to add a amp. Its not the best but heck it adds the bass I want.

I have a Boston Pro Audio 10.5 LF sub which only requires a 1/2 cuft box and is in the tool well. And am driving it with a Xenon 600.1 which is where the spare tire was. The 4 channel is on top of the gas tank.
