Hi guys, i came across a club racer who modified a Triumph Spitfire with the S2000 Motor.

I have a TR-6 that I want to modernize with this great(and great sounding) engine as well. ideas?

That would be awesome. I don't know what would have to be done, but it would be a fun ride.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Dres, no offense intended, but the 6 n' the Spit both, were hot tickets in their day. But even in their day the suspensions were nothin' to write home about. Given the transplant of a Stewie mill? I dunno. It jus' seems like fittin' 357 into a 38.
Unless the suspension on the 6 n' the Spit were brought to racin' levels, I don't think that it's a good match.
If the chassis/suspension is prepped to deal with it n' can competently deal with what takes place between 7 to 9 grand (or 6500 to 8 grand in the later versions) then I'd like to hear about the resultin' rides. If you're plannin' on droppin' it in a stock (knee-action shocks, weren't they?) suspendered unit, well, I dunno 'bout that.
Whichever way you go, good luck, keep us posted n' be well.
(knee-action shock absorbers . . now there's a technical marvel that led to many therapy sessions)

thats an awesome swap id love to see a cool old car like that with some power behind it. It would be even cooler with some kind of boost behind it. How tuff is the rear in your car? could it handle the power or are you planning on doing a rear swap too? I think the entire project could be cooler with boost.

me too

I have a 73 MGB. Goin tomorrow to look at a drivetrain for my B. I love the car but hate the lack of power. I want the best of both worlds and this is the way.

Lotus 7 with S2000 drivetrain

Here's my car from WMC http://www.wcmultralite.com/

One just like it (except for rotrex supercharger and spoilers) just came in 3rd in this year's 1 Lap of America against some pretty high dollar cars.

Now I just need to save up for a rotrex myself

Pretty impressive specs, Mondo. With that WT/HP ratio, it must be a blast to drive. I'd sure love to build one of those, but I'm not ready to sacrifice my shiney sheetmetal yet. I think I should look around for a donor car!!!
