Used S2000 Abnormal Motor

I tried a used s2000, 2001, I started the engine which was not too much noise and when I pressed the gas pedal, the account turn ends at 3500 rpm, and did not mounted beyond, although I accelerated hard.
On the table, pictogram is displayed abnormal motor.
I have doubts about this purchase and I think she has a problem.
Any one have an answer ?

Sounds like the engine is in limp mode (won't exceed 3500rpm to prevent further damage to the engine). This could be really serious or nothing more than a bad O2 sensor. If there's a M-I-L (Malfunction Indicator Light) code, you could take that code to AutoZone or some place similar and they can tell you what the code means. If you want to buy this car (and I'm not sure why you would want to...but there are stranger things in life), this would be a good bargaining point to get the price way down.

I am in a country where there not a Honda resseler or a represen and the fact to have found a S2000 is a wonderful a miraculously.
I have a date with a seller this week end for a test on road and I am going to know more.
Thank you for your response!

I would try to find another one. There may be a serious problem with the one you are looking at.
