I can't get this car out of my head! I've seen it before many time but just recently really started looking into the car and i love it! Been watching videos and reading up on it and the more i read the more i like it. It's like the S2000's older brother that takes roids Lol. Here are some stats that i found and a little comparision to an AP1.
NSX 290hp 224 trq 3.2l 8k redline 2800 lbs 0-60 4.8 0-100 11.8 top speed 167 1/4 mile 13.2 AP1 240 hp 153 trq 2.0 L 9k redline 2809 lbs 0-60 5.8 0-100 14.9 top speed 147 1/4 mile 14.4 ( don't beat me up over some of the numbers i pulled them from a website online Personally i would love to own one maybe even get rid of my s for it. What do you guys think? Hoping someone on here has been obsessing over this car as much as i have.

Well its funny you should mention this car jake, I had myself a little race with one of these two weeks ago ( I dont usually race but this time I said $%&* it ! ) he stared me down at the lights, and I pulled in behind him, and it just happened releitavly quickly, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and he wasn't going anywhere. Its a nice car, a little extreme styling from behind , but nice.

The NA1 wasn't that impressive, but the NA2 is quite a bit faster. I'll take a NA2 to put in my garage for display for sure. NO TOP DOWN so it'll never match the S2000 IMO.

Life is short. Own and drive what makes you happy. If you want it, make it happen. Or at least try to. If you can afford it, do it.
Rack up miles, not regrets.

It is really a classic car. It is MR set up, the weight close to 50/50. Honda trys to make this car as daily car that driver can enjoy everyday. I heard it doesnt have power steering on NA1.
This is the ONE I like. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false |

Yea i love the NSX too. I was asking my mechanic about these cars (and also the MR2's) because they specialize in Honda and Toyota. He was saying that these mid engine cars are bit more labor intensive to work on, and parts can be expensive and/or hard to find. They had an NSX there needing a new alt, which cost around 1k.
So keep in mind the maintenance is a little bit more than the S. I might get an NSX one of these days. |

I have ALWAYS loved the NSX and would love to have one. My only complaint is the lack of horsepower. With the CT supercharger, I think it would be an incredible car. I am kind of spoiled now.

Yeah as that link suggests, older NSXs can be had for relatively cheap. It's a great car, but I certainly wouldn't buy one for a performance standpoint. I think the other Japanese cars of it's day would be on-par or better, for a bit less money. I'm talking about the RX-7, Supra, 300ZX, and 3000GT. However, whereas these cars were just normal sports cars, I'd still call the NSX an exotic. It'll turn heads like a Ferrari, and will always be more exclusive than anything else from Japan. I certainly wouldn't mind owning one of the later models.

If i were you, i would much rather look into FD RX7's. Dont get me wrong, i LOVE the nsx but i think its not worth it for the money. An RX7 though, MY GOD. My friend has one and i am in love with it. Handles beautifully.
Only problem is its incredibly hard to find a clean one.

Yes, it's INCREDIBLY hard to find a clean, unmolested FD RX-7 these days. It's such a shame, and I'm really hoping this doesn't happen with S2000 in years to come.
People who modify their S2000 should at least try to keep the old stuff to offer the next buyer when they sell it. But, I know that's easier said that done. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - that RX-7 is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. |

I thought NSX was 300+hp. I wouldn't buy it. It's too expensive. You have better choices at that price range.

You cant put performance/price ratio on NSX. It has alot of technology and design in that car in that time. Such as ultra-light aluminum monocoque chassis, suspenion setup. Remember Honda put NXS to compare with Ferrari with more reliable and affordable.
I agree Surpa, 300ZX, RX-7 (FD3S) are really nice car as well. Only RX-7 is lighter than NSX. The body style of NSX still look really good to me after 20 years later. Plus, Honda design high rev N/A enginee. They just think the supspenion set up right with their enginee. You will have fun in track. I dont think Japan do not do Drag race back in 90's. Drifting was just started in that time. |

Anything can be done. The question would be "Why?" For the amount of money it would take to put an NSX monor into an S2000, you could add a SC or a turbo to the S2000, have A LOT more power, and have a ton of change left over. I believe the highest output of an NSX motor was (officially) 290 HP.

Yeah, that's just not a smart engine for the S. I agree with above.

Mistubushi made the fto with a 2l v6 might want to look at that. But the high end gpx mivec version only put out 220 bhp and 45 torques at 6k. top speed of 142 i think. not the best v6 but a small one like you were looking for. Oh and honda was ,at first, going to put a 2l v6 into the first nsx might try to see if you could find that but i promise it won't be on par with your stock engine.

My brother, who works for American Honda can drive any car they make. When the NSX first came out he brought one over. Performance was impressive. But so was the S2000. The NSX might have a little more elbow room but you can't drop the top and the engine is right behind your head. There is no end to how many horses you can buy, if you can afford them. Question is how many can you use?

I was in Angeles Crest about 2yrs ago (driving my civic) when I came across a group of NSX's. They stopped and I got a really good look at them, most had mods but the one's that were stock also impressive.Never drove one but they said they were GREAT!
